Landscaping the backyard

We were so excited to finally begin landscaping our backyard this year.

Here is a picture of the way it looked prior to the beginning of the project

Even before the yard was finished, we were able to enjoy the little stream at the back edge of our property.

We planted wildflowers along the edge of the glen, so we'd have something colorful to enjoy, while waiting to get the rest of the yard landscaped. I think they look so cheerful.

We reserved part of the backyard for a garden and orchard. The corn got off to a good start, but didn't produce many good ears. We heard it was "just not a corn year". We hope to have better luck next year!

We have a dozen fruit trees that should begin bearing next year.

Lee leveled out the area where we wanted lawn. It is beginning to look promising.

We hired a crew to come and lay the sprinkling system and finish the project. This is just too much work for "old folks" like us!

It was hard to get a good shot of the yard with my little camera. The pix are kind of blurry, but you have to admit it is a huge improvement. I can't wait for Spring flowers!

Here's the yard under a blanket of snow.
