A Rose for Rosa

On November 2, 2010, our dear mother, Rosa Afton Gold Boam slipped peacefully away, holding the hand of her beloved daughter, Joyce. It is wonderful how the Lord's Tender Mercies can descend upon us like a warm blanket when we are in need. We are never really ready to let go of loved ones and it is so nice that we can "borrow" them back in precious moments. I know that families have an Eternal bond that remains unbroken in death.

It is interesting how the small incidentals keep our minds occupied in the first few days and weeks, to perhaps smooth over these rough times. I have been busily searching for special photos that everyone remembers and want to share them among the family, as well as updating her Book of Remembrance and Journal. In this way, we can all pull together and bring comfort and feel Afton's love flow among us.

Here are a few photos that bring Afton back to our Remembrance:

I got a million of 'em! We really should have a "photo album night" one of these times. I know there are lots of pictures I've not taken the time to share with you all ;)
