I heard the funniest story ever at a luncheon the other day (let's face it, why else do we go to these things?). My neighbor's daughter got married last September, and is now trying to survive on their married students' limited budget. She called her mother the other day and in all seriousness, asked, "Mom, can we eat green bacon?" What? are these kids nuts? The poor young husband, who had a real hankerin' for bacon that day, could be heard whimpering in the background, "But, what if we cook it for a really long time?" Her mom's reply was priceless, "Unless you got that bacon from a green pig, you can definitely NOT eat green bacon!"
My question is, "how long has that bacon been in their fridge, to have turned green? It's cured meat, for goodness sake! Those silly kids are going to have to find some other way to cut corners this month.
