Revelations of an aging mind

Question: If you have Alzheimer's, do you know it?

I won't say I'm forgetful, I'll just say my fact recall mechanism is slower than it used to be. All the information is in there, somewhere, but my filing system has an irreparable glitch. I need to send myself little mental post-it notes, to help the process along. Actually, I've come across a very helpful method of remembering. It is the "Positive Suggestion System" or PSS. Rather than saying, "I hope I don't forget to do that" or even worse, "I know I'm going to forget that", which is not only negative, but giving my mind an instant justification for disremembering! Rather, I have adopted an affirmative action arrangement: "When I do __X__ it will jog my memory to do __Y__" and guess what? It is working! woohoo, I may just beat the Alzheimer's Curse afterall....

I have to find something that works, because Boggle isn't doing it for me. (Boggle is supposed to help keep the mind agile and sharp.) I tried playing Boggle with Lee, Ryan, and Julie the other night, and quite frankly, I've lost my touch!

I like the memory jogger, I'll have to try that! You should do crosswords and sudoku- there isn't the time pressure which I think helps.

crosswords work, sudoku doesn't compute with me ;) So nice to see you are reading my blog. It makes me feel loved!

Don't feel bad for losing to me at Boggle. It's not an indication of anything, except that I dominate. Bwa ha ha!

Sorry. Just kidding! :)
